Product Description
The Broadcom MegaRAID 9560-16i is a PCIe Gen 4.0 RAID controller from the MegaRAID 9500 series, the industry's first PCIe Gen4 RAID adapter family offering both PCIe Gen 4.0 host and storage interfaces. Built on the SAS3916 high-port-count RAID-on-Chip (RoC), the 9560-16i delivers up to twice the performance of previous-generation controllers while supporting sixteen internal SAS/SATA/NVMe ports through two x8 SFF-8654 connectors. With Broadcom's Tri-Mode SerDes technology, the adapter operates NVMe, SAS and SATA devices concurrently in the same drive bay, giving system integrators complete flexibility in dense storage designs. The 9560-16i is compatible with existing PCIe SFF-8639 Module (U.2) backplanes and, together with the SFF-TA-1001 (U.3) specification and Universal Backplane Management (UBM) framework, enables a non-disruptive path for evolving data center infrastructure toward higher-bandwidth NVMe storage. The controller includes 8GB of cache memory — double the 9560-8i's capacity — backed by CacheVault flash-based protection (CVPM05) and supports RAID levels 0, 00, 1, 10, 5, 50, 6 and 60.
